The design of fermentation tanks using a tank turning machine includes two aspects: the number of fermentation tanks to be established and the size design of a single fermentation tank. In order to facilitate the normal operation of production, the volume of each fermentation tank can be designed according to the volume of compost material that needs to be processed per sweet. The width and height of the fermentation tank are determined according to the requirements of the tank turning machine. This design uses a trough-type turning machine manufactured by Henan Tongda Heavy Industry Technology Co., Ltd. The design requires that the width of the fermentation tank is 4m and the turning depth is 1.5m. Considering the super height of 0.2m, the depth of the fermentation tank is determined to be 1.7 m. The length of the fermentation tank is determined to be 30m based on the material volume, fermentation tank width, height, etc. The number of fermentation tanks needs to be determined according to the fermentation cycle. The designed fermentation cycle of this project is 15 days, so at least 21 fermentation tanks are needed. Considering one fermentation tank for turnover, the number of fermentation tanks is 22. When the processing capacity reaches 300t/d, 66 fermentation tanks are installed; when the processing capacity reaches 600t/d, 132 fermentation tanks are installed.
The fermentation tank is a reinforced concrete structure, and two adjacent fermentation tanks share the same tank wall. The width of the pool wall is determined according to the requirements of the turning machine. The pool wall must be able to withstand the pressure of the turning machine. The bottom plate of the fermentation tank must bear the gravity of the fermentation materials and the loader, and must also meet the ventilation requirements.
For the tank fermentation process, there are two ways of feeding in and out of the fermentation tank: batch feed in and feed out and overall feed in and out. The characteristic of batch incoming and outgoing materials is that each time batch materials are fed into the end of the fermentation tank, and the materials are moved to the other end of the fermentation tank through the turning operation of the turning machine. For the second time, the batch material is fed into the starting end, and the cycle starts again, until the fermentation cycle ends, and the finished material is discharged from the other end of the fermentation tank. While transporting materials, the turner also performs oxygenation, crushing and mixing operations on the materials. The characteristic of the overall feeding and discharging is that the entire fermentation tank is filled with materials at one time, and when the fermentation cycle ends, the materials are discharged at one time. In order to meet the needs of feeding, the batch incoming and outgoing process requires turning at a fixed frequency during the entire fermentation cycle. The turning operation will cause the temperature of the pile to change in a zigzag shape, which is not conducive to the degradation of compost. When feeding, the fermentation tank is filled with materials through the loader at one time; when discharging, the materials in the fermentation tank are transported out at one time. In the early stage of the fermentation cycle, there is no turning and only blast oxygen is used to meet the continuous high temperature requirements of composting; in the later stage of the fermentation cycle, appropriate turning is required to meet the requirements of compost uniformity.
